The Problem

During the quarantine, young people aging from 20 to 40 are concerned about their health issues such as messing with the biological clock, because it is more difficult to separate home life from work.

The Solution

An innovative platform designed to help young people manage their time engagingly. It turns the tedious daily routine and the annoying reminders into a funny and interactive experience by adding social value and gamification.

Mixed Methods Research 

To integrate both qualitative and quantitative data, we conducted mixed methods research including desk research, competitive analysis, interview, and survey. The first two were used to get a broad sense of the market. We then interviewed some participants for exploration purposes and got qualitative data, which we analyzed and used to build the survey, the second quantitative phase.

Synthesis & Insights

After gathering 164 survey results, we analyzed them by checking the proportion of the results and did a cross analysis among different groups, from which we gained insights.

Most people take pleasure in cooking, web surfing, and being with their family. For people aged 20-40, they enjoy cooking more, while doing exercise less. 

For males, more pleasure comes from web surfing For females, more pleasure comes from keeping company. 

Many people think laziness, the lack of self-control, and procrastination as the main reasons why they fail their health plan. 

People who work from home are more likely to be influenced by others when it comes to following their health plans.

Most people plan for healthy living by adjusting their biological clock, doing exercise, making a balanced diet, and eating on time.



Ecosystem map & Journey map

To get inspiration, we mapped out the possible stakeholders and the relationships among them, along with the user's journey. From doing these, we found out some potential opportunities to address the pain points and improve the pleasure.

Concept choosing

After brainstorming, we generated 12 different concepts. We asked 12 participants to rate each concept according to the rating criteria, a rubric of originality, feasibility, fun, and function. Our participants rated at a scale of 1 to 5, from strongly disagree to strongly agree. Following are the three concepts with high scores, and we decided to go with the last one.

Prototype & Test

Testing is an important step in the development process. My team and I decided to do card sorting to find out the most reasonable information structure. After we designed our low and medium fidelity prototype, we tested the usability to looks for areas of improvement. Due to the quarantine, we did all the testing and prototyping online.

We asked our participants to organize the function cards into their desired categories and label them, which guided us to design our information architecture.

With the structured information architecture, we started to draw wireframes and discussed with each other. Once we reached a common ground, we moved on to develop the medium-fidelity prototype.

The service blueprint

A service blueprint is created to visualize the different processes going among the users and CallBoom. It displays the user experience of the service delivery.

Users can create tasks and post to the homepage to let someone remind them.

Recieve rewards

After completing the tasks, users will receive rewards to unlock new looks with cute emojis, voices, and backgrounds. They can try on the look before they unlock it.


Manage profile

Users are required to provide some basic data at the start and will have profiles with updated information about the biological clock and history activities. There are also detailed reports for the biological clock generated.
